Accessing Corrective Actions in Beacon is now controlled by Permissions and Roles assigned to a user. Permissions for users to add, edit, and delete events and Tasks in a Corrective Action are managed on a per-role basis.
Roles and Permissions Details
- Each user has a default (system) role, plus a specific role(s) that determine their access to Corrective Actions
- Roles can be fully customized for each organization
- List of Roles and settings of permissions in the system is global
- There are four default roles defined for each organization (listed below) with a set of permissions assigned. Pre-defined roles can be customized to any set of permissions
- Only Organization Admins can edit and customize roles for the organization
- When editing roles for a user:
- Site Admin can only Add/ Remove roles they have for other users
- Org Admin can Add/Remove any roles for other users

Approve event | Can Approve a Corrective Action event, if assigned as an event Approver | Users having this permission can be assigned as event Approvers to any Corrective Actions events within their scope; when assigned as an event Approver, a user can approve or reject a pending Corrective Action |

Close Task | Can close a Task they have been assigned to | Users having this permission can be designated as Task Owners to any Corrective Action Tasks (including Validation Tasks) within their scope; when assigned as a Task Owner a user can close an open Corrective Action Task and/or Validation Tasks, also attach files to the Task |
Delete event | Can Delete any Corrective Action within their scope | Users having this permission can delete any Corrective Action that is within their scope irrespective of being assigned to the Corrective Action or not. |
