Questions can be added to an assessment document in multiple ways.
To add questions to a document, navigate to Library > Documents, and select a document from the Document Library.
EASE offers 3 options to add questions to an assessment document:
A: Add Question - Manually create a new question to be added to this document. Questions created with this functionality will automatically be added the to Question Library for future use. The question's Program will default to the document's Program.
Select Apply near the bottom right of the menu to add this question to the document. For more information on how to create questions, click here.
B: Add from Library - Select multiple existing questions from your Question Library to be added to this document. Only questions with the same Program as the document will be shown.
Use the Search by function to find specific questions, or use the filters provided to sort for desired questions. Check the box(es) on the left side and click Done at the bottom right to add these questions to the document.
C: Add Random Question - Ease will randomly select a specific number of questions each time this document is used in an assessment.
1. Number of Questions - determine the number of random questions the system will select each time an assessment using this document occurs. Choose a value between 1 and 100.
2. Tag Rule - Depending on the Tags selected, the system can randomize questions 1) with at least one of the tags selected, 2) with all tags selected, or 3) all questions (the entire question library filtered by the document's program).
3. Tags - Select the tags to categorize which questions are eligible to be randomly selected. This field will provide a drop-down menu of the existing Tag Library within your Organization. Select as many tags as needed. The Tag Rule determines how the system will use the tags to randomize.
4. Randomize by Question Failure Rate - When enabled, the system will prioritize the selection of questions that have been failed within the past 30 days. The question failure rate randomization logic is build on a weight algorithm that assigns a numeric value (weight) to each eligible question based on it's failure rate. The higher the weight, the higher chance of being randomly selected.
- The weight of each question is calculated from the following variables:
- Failure Rate %: The percentage of times this question has failed within the past 30 days.
- Failure Count: The total number of times this question has failed within the past 30 days.
- The weight is then calculated to determine each questions probability of being randomly selected. For example:
- NOTE: questions that have never failed or never been asked are given a starting weight of 5 to give them a non-zero chance of being selected.
- NOTE: if no questions with the selected tags have failed, then all questions have an equal chance of being randomly selected.
