In EASE, Shifts determine a user's working and non-working days. By default, EASE sets up a single shift that is Monday - Friday. EASE does not take hours into consideration; a shift only covers the days available to perform assessments.
If different shift schedules are required, shifts can be created and assigned to users so that assessments are not assigned on non-working days. Monthly and Yearly assessments do not consider shifts.
To access Shifts, navigate to Organization and select the Shifts tab at the top of the page. To add a new shift, click on the (+) button at the bottom right of the window.
Complete the following fields to create a new shift.
- Associate this new shift to a site.
- Title this shift.
- Add a description to this new shift (optional).
- Use the calendar provided to set a cycle start date.
- Set the number of days in the cycle. For a standard 7 day workweek, enter the number 7. If a modified shift schedule is being utilized (e.g., the Dupont schedule) this number can be extended up to 180 days.
- If a shift spans across multiple days, enable the Spans Multiple Days setting to automatically add a 1-day Start Window so users working overnight can complete assessments that extend past midnight.
- Using the block calendar, select which days this shift will be working. Working days are highlighted in blue, non-working days are left blank. The amount of days listed in this block calendar directly correlates with the Number Days in Cycle setting.
Click on a shift to view and edit its details. Click on the rectangular box icon on the right side of each shift to create a copy of that shift.
Users and assessment teams can only be added to shift from their respective user profiles and assessment team settings. Shifts can only be deleted once all users and teams have been removed.
